Using Google to Research Leads Before a Sales Visit — Tips?

Hey fellow road warriors

I’ve been refining my pre-visit research routine lately and realized how much more efficient I’ve become by using Google creatively before heading into meetings.

Before every field visit, I now quickly:

  • Search the company name + “recent news”
  • Look up the decision maker on LinkedIn (via Google search for quicker access)
  • Check Google Reviews for their business to spot trends, complaints, or strengths
  • Use Google Maps’ Street View to preview the location and parking

This saves me time, makes my intro conversations more relevant, and helps me avoid awkward surprises like construction or recent PR issues.

Curious:
Do you use any Google tricks for lead research or visit prep?
Any tools or browser extensions that work great with your mapping & routing apps?
What’s your go-to method for understanding a lead’s pain points before the pitch?

Let’s share tips and build a solid pre-visit routine together
