Jordon Belford: Solid Sales technique or Pump and Dump?


Is Jordan Belford Solid Sales technique or Pump and Dump? I’m leaning toward Solid Sales because of a Forbes 1983 article that said he had good sales technique. Have any of you had success with him?



If you are referring to the Straight Line Method I would have to agree with you. Although I find the technique to be similar to many others, the foundation behind his method is valid.
The three points being:

  1. Developing rapport with the customer

  2. Asking specific question to gather intelligence and to understand the customer needs

  3. Controlling the sale by keeping it on the straight line (if the customer changes the direction of the conversation, bring it back).

These are all important elements that I have used when pitching and find to give results.
