Hi guys! I recently began my job as an outside sales rep but I am still unclear on a few details, especially when it comes to finances. What I want to know is if my position makes me exempt from FSLA?
Is an outside sales rep exempt from FSLA?
Do you mean FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act)? If so, it may depend on if you are a W-2 employee for the company or if you are an independent contractor (1099). This might best be answered by an accountant or attorney.

Hey Tamile. There are certain requirements an outside sales employee must meet in order to be exempt. This would include having a clear “Primary Duty” and “Making Sales”. I’ve attached a link to the Department of Labor page that will hopefully clarify some things. https://www.dol.gov/whd/overtime/fs17f_outsidesales.htm
